Welcome from Jayne Webb, Headteacher
On behalf of all the pupils, staff and governors at St Anne’s, may I warmly welcome you to our school! Thank you for expressing an interest in our school, where we are committed to ensuring each child makes excellent progress.
Our school website aims to give parents/carers information and an insight into life at St Anne’s.
As a church school, we believe in the importance of giving our pupils education in a Christian setting. We are committed to delivering a curriculum that meets the needs of every child, from the most able, to children with special educational needs. Being a smaller than average school allows us to get to know each child very well.
At St Anne’s, we are very proud of our children. We expect children to do their very best in everything, regardless of their ability or background. We recognise and celebrate children’s achievements in all they do, both inside and outside of school. We are pleased to offer a range of extra-curricular activities which change regularly to ensure variety.
Our children leave the Foundation Stage with attainment that is above national average and phonics attainment is also above national average. Throughout their educational journey, our children continue to make good progress across a creative and broad curriculum.
We are members of the Rossendale Sports Partnership and regularly have specialist coaches in school who help us prepare for competitions. Music is very important to us, and we have lots of opportunities for children throughout school with guitar and ukulele lessons weekly.
At St Anne’s you can’t help to notice the ‘family’ feel, where children learn in a safe, secure and happy environment. SIAMS awarded the school as a ‘Good’ Church of England school in July 2016. OFSTED awarded the school ‘Good’ in June 2018.
I am proud to serve as headteacher here at St Anne’s and its community; it is a wonderful place to work. Our staff team are a real asset to school and go above and beyond to provide the best education for each child in a caring Christian setting. Our pupils are a delight and work hard to achieve their best. Our supportive governing board help shape the direction of St Anne’s and know our staff team very well. The links St Anne’s has with St Anne’s church are really important to us as we serve the local community together.
For prospective parents/carers, choosing the right school for your child is a big decision, and we appreciate that the decision is an act of trust. Our aim is to ensure that all children are extremely well cared for, and that the time they spend at St Anne’s is happy and successful. We aim to provide many enrichment experiences to inspire pupils and increase their cultural capital so they leave us with life long memories, a love of learning and a desire to be good citizens as adults.
For existing parents/carers, we value your support in your child’s learning journey and the contributions you make to school life. It is always helpful when school and home work together so ensure your child learn well.
It is hoped that this website will provide you with lots of useful information about our school. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. We are proud to welcome visitors to St Anne’s, and would be more than happy for you to visit and see our lovely school!
