In my professional role I have 30 years experience in commercial sales mainly in the information technology sector where I worked with many educational institutions. At St Anne’s I am involved in Safeguarding and Financial matters in addition to my role as Chair, leading a committed and passionate team of Governors who have a great range of skills and attributes and are always ready to give their time and enthusiasm to focus on improving outcomes for all our school family. One of my best days as a Governor was in 2017 spent accompanying Year 6 on their trip to the Houses of Parliament.  I am passionate about giving our children extraordinary experiences alongside the very best education to prepare them for life.

I am proud of what we have achieved at the school over the past few years and excited about the future as we continue on our improvement journey.

On a personal level, I have two grown up children and a grandson.  I enjoy travelling both abroad and closer to home. My hobbies include sewing and other crafts, reading, theatre and music.

I began teaching in 1999 and have worked in a range of schools in Blackburn, Liverpool, Pendle and Rossendale.  In 2002, I qualified as an Advanced Skills Teacher enabling me to support others on school improvement projects through outreach work. I also spent time working as a Teaching and Learning Consultant, again with a focus on supporting schools with their school improvement journeys.

Following this, I became a Deputy Headteacher in a school with approximately 220 children on roll and I was the leader for the school in the following areas: Key Stage 2 Leader, Assessment for Learning, Foreign Languages, Healthy Schools and Student Mentoring.

I have been a Headteacher since 2009, and in post as Headteacher at St Anne’s since January 2014. Our school is a nurturing environment and is regularly commended by visitors on the ‘special feeling’ that it has. We are committed to developing the ‘whole’ child. It is a privilege to work with such a forward-thinking team who share the vision for St Anne’s – that we were made to be ‘awesome’, to be the best we can be, to live life in all its’ fullness and to make a difference.

Whenever I can, I very much enjoy being active, and I regularly swim, run, cycle and walk both for enjoyment and on a competitive level. I love to be outdoors, appreciating the beauty and wonderment of nature.
