Our last Ofsted inspection was completed in May 2023 and St Anne’s continues to be a ‘GOOD’ school.  We are extremely proud of our school, its staff, children, the school community.

You can read the full OFSTED inspection report here:

If you wish to give your views about St Anne’s Church of England Primary School, you can do so in the following ways:

  • Complete the annual Parental Questionnaire and return it to school. This is sent out to all families early in the Autumn Term each year. We aim to respond to your views via the weekly newsletter, so keep an eye out.
  • Log on to Parentview via the following link: https://parentview.ofsted.gov.uk/
  • Have a chat with your child’s teacher, the office staff or Mrs Webb.

We love hearing your views as this tells us what you like about school life or where we could improve.

OFSTED Changes

A Parent’s Guide to the New Ofsted Framework

https://reports.ofsted.gov.uk/

WHAT IS THE NEW OFSTED FRAMEWORK?

The new Ofsted framework has been introduced to give parents a clearer, fairer and more detailed understanding of how schools are performing.

It moves away from relying on a single overall judgement and instead focuses on:

  • What schools do well
  • Where they are improving
  • The real experiences of pupils and families

The aim is to support improvement while providing transparent information for parents.

THE NEW REPORT CARD SYSTEM

Schools now receive a report card rather than one overall grade.

What parents will see:

  • Separate judgements for key areas such as:
    • Quality of education
    • Behaviour and attitudes
    • Attendance
    • Leadership and management
    • Inclusion and safeguarding
  • A clearer picture of strengths and areas for development
  • Easier comparison between schools without oversimplifying performance

PARENTAL QUESTIONNAIRE

Parents’ views are a key part of inspections.

The updated questionnaire asks about:

  • Communication with the school
  • Behaviour, safety and wellbeing
  • Support for children’s learning and inclusion

Parent responses are carefully considered by inspectors and help reflect the day-to-day experiences of families using the same website.     https://parentview.ofsted.gov.uk/

NEW INSPECTION METHODOLOGY

Inspections now focus more on what happens in practice, not just data.

Key changes include:

  • More time spent in classrooms
  • Conversations with pupils, staff and leaders
  • Greater focus on wellbeing, inclusion and support
  • A balanced view of progress and improvement over time

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR PARENTS

✔ Clearer and more detailed information
✔ A stronger parental voice
✔ No single overall judgement
✔ Greater focus on pupils’ real experiences

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR SCHOOLS

  • Less pressure from a single overall judgement
  • Achievement and attainment data used sensibly and in context
  • Greater focus on curriculum quality and teaching
  • More professional dialogue with inspectors
